Decentralized Health

Health issues and anything related to the health care of the people should be paramount and very important on every scale of preference. The centralized control of the health sector should be considered only for the allocation of funds and not for the carrying out of health care.

Imagine a country with a big landmass and a large population of people who have a different lifestyle for the different regions. Of course, there will be clear distinctions on the way of life of these people and thus a number of peculiar medical incidences will be recorded in their different medical facilities in the different regions.

The Need For Decentralize Health

There is an obvious indication of the need for different health care policies for the different localized government of the different region with the peculiar medical incidences.

The centralization of health care will make the central government the policymakers for the different decisions which relate to health. These policies, however, will definitely have shortcomings as swift decisions will not be taken when necessary for the different specific health care needs.

The decentralization, however, will see the local government in specific regions handle healthcare matters and pass policies related to the healthcare of these regions.

Asides from the matter of allocated funds which are being handed to these different regions, the other concerning issues should be handled by the local governance right?

Other advantageous reasons for decentralization may include:

Improved equity and service: the service provided by decentralized systems are faster and more thorough

Better resource management: the allocated resources will be better managed by the local policymakers to better care for the people in their region

Quality of service: the services rendered are almost guaranteed top quality as the personnel are well familiar with the medical situations in the region and have a better experience working with these situations.
